I used to raise them for practical classes at a uni I worked at. I was OBSESSIVE about ensuring they never escaped & they didn’t for 3 years. 
 I went on holiday & my replacement left the lid off the tank for 1hr... the WHOLE building had to be fumigated to remove the resulting infestation. Luckily the other tech reported it, so I didn’t catch the flack for it!

I love invertebrates. I’ve spent most of my professional life looking after them. Ants are my favourite though, I think ants are great.
