Gassing for the nonexistent?

I must have had too much cheese last night as I've found myself dreaming of a bound, light relic Telecaster in a Gibson-style gold top finish.

Does such a thing even exist or would it have to be a custom partscaster type of affair?

One of the finishes for the early Eighties Elite Telecaster was gold top with white edge binding.

That's probably the way to go. More sellable than a partscaster and that has to be a consideration: one thing I failed to mention is that I've had 4 Teles and have sold them all...

Build it! Plenty of guys on here can help. I've built a Strat and a Junior,both favorites over My Gibson's. Think weight comes into that as much as anything ha,these old shoulders ache.

I did the TootCaster a while back and flogged it on, but that was just a wax finish and didn't have a great neck. If I were do do another, I'd have it finished properly and spend more on a neck...

Yes a partscaster..
swamp ash body I think.. rosewood fretboard with a C shape neck and 7.25 radius
Joce Dominger pick ups and nickel hardware
weighs about 9lb and it’s a great sounding tele
the back and sides are matt black

Lol @pmbomb ; - it is a bit daft, you're righ, especially as I have never kept a Tele for more than about a year and typically play mostly rock riffage (or the best approximation I can muster), but as I said, I put it down to the weird cheese dream and now it's got under my skin.

I deffo want a trad Tele layout, even though the single TV Jones version above looks as sexy AF. Also a rosewood board. And a TootCaster logo, natch.

I love GT LPs, but the Feline is all the LP I'll ever need. I need to spread the McToot love around other formats
