Finally found the source of my guitar buzz problems - the sofa chair.

Could you not turn it into a massive spring reverb unit?

Good one. This is the best solution yet. One could then utilise the cushion as a dampener effect.

    Quite comfortable, actually.

This explains why my lounge jazz outfit has been plagued with electrical issues.

Get rid of the sofa or the guitar.

Right, then, I'm going to ground.
So, how's the grounding going @Philtre. ;;;;; Is it sofa so good, or have you had to bench the idea when you may have to settee for another solution!    sorry, but I had to be careful how I couched that!
Hmm, you have a very earthy sense of humour.
Actually I'm quite grounded although, shockingly, some think I'm a bit of a live wire...but I re-fuse to believe it.
Because we all buy loads of guitar gear all the time, does that make this place a 'Consumer Board'?
    :)

    Oooh look, ... Taxi's here !

Hmmm...I start a serious thread and it descends into mindless humour....

    ...love it. :-)

  • This is great. I'm (still) hunting buzz in my strat. Don't think the sofa has metal springs but will look.

Plasma TV on standby was a good buzz find; ripping open the underneath of the sofa might not go down too well with Mrs YotG though.

She did suggest playing in the garden once (nice, it was raining. Funny cos I thought my attempt at Living on a Prayer was okay.)

Power pack for a small LED light strip was another, but now I sit the other end of the sofa. Can't see the bloody tab now though. Hmm maybe that's why I'm being asked to play in the garden!

  • On a more serious note, are the cavities in those guitars fully shielded?

    No

You can try this at home, folks. Simply place your single coil guitar near a large metal body.
