My last roll of trusty double sided tape has recently expired, and having purchased a few products from my local DIY and crafts shops, I have to say none look very suitable for my needs. I need something that will hold a router template firm, but will still come off relatively easily once the work is complete. As most of my projects tend to be modifying existing guitars I need something which won't damage the finish.
I seem to remember a thread on this very subject a few months ago, but I've tried a few different search terms but can't find it.
So what is everyone else using?

They won't budge when routing but a good firm yank directly upwards will lift the pieces apart.

the cheaper stuff is a right pain to get off if applied directly to wood imo

Your life will improve when you realise it’s better to be alone than chase people who do not really care about you. Saying YES to happiness means learning to say NO to things and people that stress you out.

Works so well and is sooooo cheap!!
For commercial tape this, from Axminster and sold by a company who make high end router tables, is the best I've used.

It's what I use now whenever I am using a router template as well as other. It's easy to tear off a strip and the stick is very powerful. You have to be careful not to put too much on! But once the parts are separated, the residue is easy to roll off cleanly.
