My Two weeks

I try and make a living out of Sound Hire and playing so just thought I'd share what its like: last thursday I ran an open mic for a friend and 3 people turned up so had to play for 3 hours, Saturday and Sunday (today) I've spent providing sound services to a Horse Extravaganza ie 2 days in a riding school with 2 mics and a cd player then tommorrow a small system for a bingo night in a pub.Tuesday collecting rig which has been out on hire then nothing until saturday when a rig goes into a party, sunday collect rig and prep all the gear for a big show on monday 6 Bands/solos for a mayday celebration in the afternoon. Tuesday a corporate gig ie two speakers may be some lights and a Plasma screen for a sales conference during the day then thursday a posh party rig at 2pm get out at 2 am friday  speakers and Dj mixing desk . Then naff all till the 1st June. being self employed in "the music business" is a bitch!
