Still, on the upside it’s cured me of my GAS for a Classic 60s tele if thats how thick the finish is on them.

Not sure if it’s because of the sharper edges when compared with, say, a Strat but Teles IMHO seem to be more susceptible than most for losing finish from the edges. Ok, so the damage to the guitar in the link is something out of the ordinary, but certainly my own MIM Tele has a couple of fairly ugly ugly dings from just one quite gentle knock. My MIM Strat on the other hand has been neglected and abused yet the paintwork is still undamaged.

Follow up question- what's up with the knobs? They look cool, but in the background on the "buckle rash" picture it looks like something really unpleasant has happened to one of them.
