NPD Tone City Model M

DPD has just delivered my new Tone City Model M and initial impressions are very favourable. It's marketed as a Marshall in a box and that's pretty accurate. In fact the crunch mode sounds spookily like my Laney Cub 12R (which is a copy of the 2203 preamp). It felt a bit weird plugged into the clean Laney doing an impression of what the amp would sound like with the gain up.

Have also tried it into the input of my little Joyo Bantamp which powers my HB 212 cab. Continued to do an excellent Marshall impression there too.

Only had it 30 minutes, so far prefer the Crunch to the High Gain setting so far. The boost is a volume boost, which is a shame, because the option to run it first would have been welcome.

Boost aside I'm really pleased with it. While £65 isn't an insignificant amount of money it's at the lower end of dirt pedals these days. And I wanted something to get those Marshal crunch sounds without paying more. Good pedal.
