Rick Beato dissects QOTSA No One Knows incl. guitar tones and parts

Harmonic analysis and drums too, solo'd tracks, some recording techniques etc.  Very cool

Might be better in the theory section actually... he quickly moves on from studio to harmony

  • The whole series is very good, for theory, production methods and appreciating songs in a new ways. The recent Man in a Box one worth a watch.

  • Really enjoy his channel actually although after a while it gets a bit..."and then it goes like this..." and he doesnt provide the insight as to why that is cool.

This is the one song I wish I had written.
If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

  • I've not watched this one yet but the series as a whole is great.  The one he did on Tom Petty's Learning to Fly was a real eye opener as to just how much there is going on in a seemingly simple song.

Odd that episode 20 is obviously being pushed out by youtube at the moment - he's done 50+ of them now but the QOTSA one is the one that appeared on my recommend list today.

Was published yesterday - sounds like the algorithms got him

Just watched it now, fantastic.  Great sound but very extreme.  I have been splitting my guitar in two and feeding UAD 2203 and Ampeg SVT sims for recording recently.  Discovered it by accident, sounds huge when you get it right

It is number 20, It got taken down when originally uploaded but now put back up.

He had similar issues with Fleetwood Mac and Led Zep.

Popped onto my YouTube feed yesterday, I really enjoyed it.  Have seen a few of his videos in the past and they were all good.
