I have a cheap Donner power supply which seems to do it’s job well. I’m using all 8 of the 9v slots. There is a 12v and an 18v slot left, both 500ma, what can I do with them? Every pedal I’ve owned is 9v, can any 9v be used with a 12v or will it fry? What pedals are specific to 12v or 18v? Please excuse my ignorance.

You *must* check for the individual pedal. 12V is *usually* OK with any 9V pedal if it's properly regulated to an accurate 12V and not higher, but 18V is risky. The manufacturer's spec will tell you if it can be used at higher voltages - it's a fashionable thing with many dirt pedals now, so will be mentioned as a 'feature' - and if nothing is mentioned, assume it can't.

Quite a few boosts and Overdriver can be run at 12 and 18 volts but as @ICBM says, it's best to check.
Most of them will have it printed on the pedal base.

Thanks, none my pedals state you can use anything but 9v so I wont risk it.

This means I have two slots available for pedals that can. I can feel the GAS rising.

So, any recommendations for pedals that can take 12v or 18v? I think the OCD can use 18v.

Always check for every pedal. I also use coloured tape for the cable ends with the high voltage so I don't make mistakes.

Most, if not all, of the Fulltone drive pedals can run on 18V.  It really opens up the OCD and makes it a lot better. It doesn't seem to help so much with the others that I have tried.  I thought the Fulldrive II sounded better on 9V.

I think some of the Xotic drive pedals can use 18V as well.  You would need to check though.

Most chase bliss pedals can run at 18v I believe. Hudson Broadcast can run up to 24v!

Old Japanese Boss pedals designed for the original ACA power supply run at 12V, even though the Boss power supply is labelled 9V. (The supply is actually unregulated, and there is a crude regulator in the pedals instead.)

Weehbo dirt pedals run at 9 or 18v, Barber dirt pedals take anything 9-18v also.

You might want to check that as I think he uses a charge pump in the broadcast
