Noisy Wah.. Help!

I've just bought a pre owned CAE MC404 from GuitarGuitar and I love it but it gives a crackly static noise at the end of its travel (so i guess when its sat on the on/off switch) and also intermittently from the mode buttons on the side, if it was new I'd send it straight back but as it second hand they'll just give me my money back and I want to keep it the pedal.

Is there anything simple I could do that might fix the problem or am I better off getting shot while I can?

I’d try a scoosh of switch cleaner into the potentiometer and footswitch as a first step.

I would have said Scush - so is this a regional dialect thing?? Or do you just hold your finger on the button longer?

I was just going with the flow, my assumption was that a scoosh is a squirt with a flourish!?
