Saw Corey Wong last night...

Bloody hell he is good.  His whole band were simply incredible.  Tight as can be!

I'm not a snob with gear, but the sound he was getting was incredible.  Not just the tight compressed chicken pickin' kinda sound, but the bluesy solos which sounded as good as you could want.

He's also hilarious, and totally gets that a lot of people were there as musicians, and took the piss really well.

Not sure what other UK dates he is doing, but it's the best £15 you could spend!

Hopefully the pics show ok:

Saw him in London this time last year. Great showman! Something happened to their drummer so my friend Samson got called to step in for the UK and Ireland gigs.

Remember they had some vocalists on video projected behind them, with Cory pretending (tongue in cheek) that they were appearing live via satellite!

I know  he played the Blundenell Social club in Leeds on Weds (Great venue) I only know that because I was there a week too early watching the Psycaodelic Porn Crumpets :(

I'd love to see him and note he's playing in London tomorrow night but alas, I can't make that

I love his sound and an interesting but intuitive board set-up. So, his compression was coming from the Ego? I need to try one as I want that heavily compressed sound for funk. My Keeley is good for things but cannot do that particular thing.

    Nice -

This man has supernatural Funk talent. Love listening to Vulfpeck and Fearless Flyers.

Superb guitarist. I'm a big fan of his playing.

    It's not a competition.

The persona put me off at first, but I've warmed to him. The guys in the orbit of Vulfpeck are the real deal.

    What are the pedals?

Yeah he took a bit of getting used to, but honestly he was hilarious.  He is just verrrry straight about the fact he needs to make money from what he does.

The pedals are a TC vocal pedal, used for dicking around octaves when telling stories, nothing serious.

Then a Helix Effects, with a Wampler Ego comp.

I can't stress enough how good his guitar sounded
