I ended up in hospital 6 or so years ago with suspected heart attack (it wasn't thank goodness!). My bosses boss, who was a wonderful woman and very appreciative of my work input, sent me a get well present - the auction book for all Les Paul's guitars and stuff - wonderful pressie!

I bought the 2004 Christie’s EC catalogue. It’s a lovely thing - beautifully printed.

I’ll probably buy the DG one.

I’ve got the Clapton catalogue from his first auction (the one with Brownie not the later on with Blackie), nicely presented souvenir.

I might order the Glimour one.

Same.  Lots of people would jump on the Black Strat, but for me, the red one is how I remember him the most, I guess it's because I grew up in the 80s and that's what he played for the majority of the time.

I grabbed a couple from the Omegamania sale a few years back. These catalogues are a great reference point and also beautifully put together

I went to view the collection today. Some amazing stuff there, both from the Floyd history point of view and several vintage rarities. You weren’t allowed to touch anything though, unlike the Clapton auction viewing in 1999 when I got to have a go on the ‘Unplugged’ Martin and the blue Giffin Strat that he used for slide.

Agreed...me too, so we'd be fighting for it. ;-)

The red one is the one I associate with the era that got me into Pink Floyd and it is such an amazing looking guitar. Should never have sold my 57RI
