Thijs van Leer is a big guy.

He's not that big .. I've met him and I tower over him.

I think he meant he’s wide, rather than tall.  I always fear the worst for him whenever I see him these days, he looks like a heart attack waiting to happen, but then he’s looked like that for the last 10 years at least.

Saw them at the Rainbow in '73. Only just realised it became an album.

I saw him at Night Of The Guitars II and also at, I think, the Astoria in Charing Cross Road, with Aynsley Lister supporting. That was a hell of a gig.

yes they did and they're superb..
Thijs and Pierre are still there from the old line-up and are still amazing players..
Udo and Menno [bass and guitar] are jaw dropping players

@Clarky Check out Swung Vol 2 - it's Menno, Pierre and Bobby (bassist before Udo) in hard jazz rock mode ... here's an early jam session ... the album is worth checking out.
