    It's a home made amp from the 50s or 60s, possibly PA, from a time when many people made their own stuff as things were more expensive and not as easily available.
    From the days of Practical Wireless and the Mullard projects.
    Maybe converted to bass or guitar use? Probably modified more than once.
    The wiring is true point-to-point, and was how it was usually done in those days by DIY-ers. How it looks has no bearing on it's function.
    A chap I knew built his own radio, HiFi and television!

    As martinw said, that is point-to-point wiring. Which is why most amps which are described as point-to-point aren’t...

    Some commercial amps were built like that, and a lot of other equipment too. If they’re simple it makes very little difference, but if they’re complex it makes any servicing quite a problem.

    One giveaway that it’s a DIY job is that the transformers are oriented wrongly - the coil windings are in the same direction, which causes hum to be induced in the OT.
