SG Re-Repair

A work colleague’s son ended up with a dead SG many years ago...and with the folly of youth, a friend of his attempted a repair.

As you can see, it wasn’t pretty and didn’t last long...

They asked me if I could take a look at it and brought it in to work today.

When I got home, some careful use of steam and dental tools meant I managed to remove the old glue.

A quick mating test of the split surfaces looks like it will go back together pretty well. :)

I’ll leave it to dry out overnight and if I have time tomorrow evening, I’ll think about glueing and clamping.
