Think thats a Bigsby bridge, TOM type would be stock. Nice guitar either way, happy NGD

Edit - that might be bollox looks like they had either from google imgs

Early ones had the tension bar bigsby and TOM on drilled posts. Later they were as this one. This is the preferred version and much loved by nearly* all Gretsch fans.  

Congratulations on what is becoming a pretty rare find. 

*I never liked my 5127 (baby blue version) but given the almost universal love for these, it’s very possible mine was more lemon than lilac??

Yup. Compton, swapping out the tuners, darkening the fretboard, upgrading the wiring but keeping the pups and... I wanna give it a new paint job... this one...

It may not have been the one but it started a love affair with Gretsch that took me to some fabulous places

He’s very finicky with guitars. There is no logic to what he does and doesn’t like...   but he does make some genius buys!

I’ve owned one of these for years and love it. I don’t really think it’s worth changing the bridge as it’s perfectly okay. I’ve fitted a Compton bridge to another Korean Gretsch I have which had a poorly made tune o matic, (5120?), but the 5129 bridge on your guitar is great.

A Compton is never a bad thing.  If you prefer the orifa bridge, i’d be interested in the Compton

Agreed. He’s designed album covers and tour T-shirts for my favourite band, The Damned. Vince is a cool dude.

I met him once in Brighton when he was doing a Razorbacks show, really nice bloke to talk to.

He's in Hastings now, his latest project is "Loser Machine" a duo.
