Strat springs

@DefaultM they are in as deep as the holes go, the hook end of the spring is just longer than on most springs

Have you tried those Gotoh PSP springs?

Even my 7 string which had 10-64 strings only needed 3 of them and it wasn't fully wound up on the claw.

As far as aesthetics go, I love the look of mine with the different colours of springs:



Obviously no good for those who actually want to use the trem.

I'm a 2 spring person, the two outer springs only on all my trems

Five for me, and I use the trem.

You'll need some kind of grinder to cut the springs, a hacksaw won't do it. It might be easier just to drill the holes deeper, then you can use any springs.
