I've been given a Fender Blues Junior and a Tokai Breezysound on loan

I helped my brother pick these out a few years ago but they've been sitting gathering dust so he's lent them to me.

The Blues Jr is ( I think) the version 3, the tokai breezysound is an MIJ 61 re-issue style.

Maybe it's just me, but the amp seems to suit the breezy a lot better than my les paul.

I don't think it is just you. Blues Juniors aren't great amps but they are perfectly OK for certain sounds and they do seem to work better with Fender style guitars in my experience. I have one and I also have much better amps but I hang on to it as it has its uses i.e. knocking out some covers and rock 'n' roll in a pub or club
This is the truth from hillbilly guitars!

They're better with less midrange-heavy guitars, that's certainly true.
