Oddly enough, this is the first time I have ever heard any Pentangle as I'm a huge fan of Bert Jansch and John Renbourne. 

I can't believe I've not heard them til now.  

Truly superb.

The blend of jazzy rhythm section with trad/folk lead instruments topped off by Jacqui McShee's voice is a sublime mix. Drummers usually pass me by but Terry Cox's playing is very arresting - enhances the music and adds a driving on feel but always understated, never flash. Danny Thompson's interplay with Jacqui's voice is also striking, his bass note counterpoint riffs to the vocal line are always exactly right and his bass tone is dense and rich. Superb rhythm section.
