tele/Strat grub screws

The short ones that don't protrude....i  asked here before (for my Tele) and some lovely man replied with a link....are you there again lovely man?

    Oh, whilst I'm here........do all Strats require that little spring in the trem arm hole thingy?

    Allparts are worth a look - they have 2 or 3 different lengths.

    #4-40 for US Strat, #6-32 for US Tele.

    Or look for those sizes on eBay hardware stores, they may be cheaper.

    Ta PQ.........what do most folk do with the too proud Strat grubbers?

    The Tele saddles look like an easier fix than the Strat job

    Or put a thin shim in the neck pocket so you don’t need shorter ones at all.

    You don’t need the spring thingy in the arm hole if you don’t want it.

    Good question.  Just looking at my Strat, the E saddles have shorter screws than the other four, but I don't think they're as short as 1/4" - maybe 5/16"?  The 1/4" ones may be too short for bent steel saddles.

    I've got - but haven't yet fitted - some Highwood saddles, with those the screws don't stick out at all.
