Who knows? Could be a highly messed with 50s Tele but it’s gonna take a whole lot of research to prove it one way or another. The huge prices being asked for old Telecasters these days would certainly attract a skilled less than honest person with a few genuine old Fender parts to have a go at a forgery.

Hmmm, so a skilled less than honest person with a few genuine old Fender parts might have a go at a forgery... and then sell it for $20.
Might be a good forger, but not such a great businessman  ;)

Depends if the story about buying it in a flea market is true...

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein

That’s if you believe the  bargain purchase story. Dishonest people can be pretty devious.

It seems like it would be obligatory to post the Fast Show "...which was nice" guy.

I definitely think this forum would benefit from a 'tongue in cheek'  icon  ;)
