Fender customshop 60s relic models Vs fender journeyman 60s relic models.

What's the difference is it just a name change they went with as the used prices are different between the two.  But generally the same specs?

Journeyman is a description of the level of wear. It’s slightly less than a relic. From newest to most worn, it goes like this:

    NOS
    Closet Classic
    Journeyman
    Relic
    Heavy Relic
This is not an official response.

As someone who loathes relic’d guitars in general. The few Journeyman ones I’ve seen actually look pretty good. It seems more realistic wear and tear. Like a patina, rather than random gouges.

I'm a Journeyman fan too. My head was definitely turned by a Sonic Blue Jazz Bass in PMT a while back. Unfortunately I didn't have the requisite £2.4K.

There is also Lush Closet Classic , which is in between Closet Classic and Journeyman

I'm not surprised. My only criticism of the Journeyman finish is that the wear pattern does seem a bit templated.
