Squire Affinity and Classic Vibe built to same spec?

Since it's bleeding impossible to find a decent neck for the Classic Vibe Tele body I've recently acquired I was thinking about buying a second hand Affinity Tele and using the neck off that.

Anyone tried this? Are the neck pockets the same dimensions?

Cheers chaps!

Yes all Tele neck pockets should be the same. I have a maple classic vibe Tele neck from a thinline, I’ve swapped it for a rosewood one, would be willing to sell if you’re interested.

Cheers bud, forgot to say in my post I'm left handed, not sure if you are?

Why is it proving difficult to find a neck for your cv tele?  I've had a few different necks on mine.

I advise against this. It is wiser to get a neck of at least as high quality as the body.

Three guesses as to why it is bleeding impossible.

There can be some variation - not least because USA instruments use Imperial measurements and Asian ones tend to be Metric.

Where there is a mismatch, an under-sized pocket can be enlarged and an over-sized pocket can be shimmed along the sides.

Just use a right handed neck.

Source: an left handed but would use a right handed one if I had to.

You may or may not know but affinity necks are generally 40mm at the nut whereas CV's are 42mm. Personally I don't like the narrower nut.

Well that's that idea out of the window, I'm not a fan of narrow nuts!

Thanks for the heads up ;-)

It's about time manufacturers had some sort of consolidation as there is far too much to choose from out there.

And that would help make more money how?  ;)  :)
