Is this a bird or something else?

    I asked a friend who knows about such things, and his reply was "There's a house sparrow, a blackcap, a robin, a wren, a woodpigeon, a blackbird and maybe a song thrush. The loudest bird is the house sparrow".

    Now that didn't quite answer your question, but I'm happy to assume that, while he didn't say so in so many words, my suggestion that it's a blackbird is correct.

    Thanks @Paul_C ;

    I don’t think the call in question is as audible as I thought it was though. It only occurs twice in the longer clip, towards the beginning and end, and I’ve tried to isolate it in the two second clip but, like I say, it evidently isn’t as noticeable as I thought.

    I can hear it but then I know what I’m listening out for, it’s almost like a hiccup with a bit of a warble.

    Ironically, I’ve not consciously noticed it in the last few days. I’m sure it’ll be back and I’ll try to get better audio.

    Thanks all the same though.

    There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife

    Bit of trading feedback here.
