Thought it was a bit busier than last year.

    Great to meet you Mark, @guitars4you ;
The Eastman was a very nice guitar for the money, if I didn’t already have a 58 I would have been going home with it.

Still went home with a selection of strings and a thorpy warthog!

I had a nice time. Nice to meet and chat with you again Mark, as well as a few other good folks. Got see Neil’s guitars for the first time, killer guitars and at a great price too. Had a chat with Ken Dixon about 60’s 335’s as he had one very similar to mine on his stand. David Plues was the gent as always and his stand was just knockout. Where else can you behold a plethora of vintage Les Pauls, inc two all original 59’s? Worth the price of entry in my book, and another bonus was I didn’t buy anything!

Enjoyed the trip out. Bought a few bits but particularly enjoyed seeing Samarkind play. Vocalist had a real Glenn Hughes quality about his voice.

Must try and catch them on tour.

Had a great day at the show.
The band Samarkind were really enjoyable, with a great early 70s rock sound/feel.
Some cool stands too.  Came very close to buying a Gibson ES330 with Bigsby.
Some interesting luthiers there, I particularly liked LT Custom guitars.
Well worth the trip and the paltry £8 entrance fee.

    Another good day out.
Lots of nice goodies and always nice to catch up with/meet forum members.
Neil @Ivisonguitars had some great guitars and the stand full of bursts was impressive (if I’m totally honest, the ‘56 did it for me).

  • Had an absolute blast today.

Best show for me in years, for loads of reasons.

Could have stayed chatting and ballooning about long past closing time.

    Well played everyone involved.

    One of my highlights...

Rosie of Turnstone Guitars. I've run out  of words to describe how good I think she is.

No but I was stood at that stall and the owner “placed” a blonde tele back on a stand. He wasn’t looking, it went nowhere near the stand and subsequently went flying straight backwards. Definitely a few bits flew of it!

Guy was trying to save face I guess, but he didn’t bother, stuck it back on the stand and carried on. Later on in the day the guitar had disappeared I would hope he’d removed it from sale and not sold it.
    How very rock and roll

Ah....I heard that one may have been bought by a local guitar dealer. I’ll probably leave it, thanks anyway :)

    Hi All,

I enjoyed it :) I too thought it was a little less busy than usual this time, maybe its cos I'm an afternooner though!

Had a nice chat with mr guitars4you about white les pauls, as he had a lovely example for sale, and had a play on an '81 strat and a gretsch pro jet at other stands.

Actual purchases were just a cable and a strap, oh and a brace of full fat cokes, but nice day out for me and the girlfriend none the less and IMHO well worth the entry fee.

Looking forward to next time already.  =)
