The National - I Am Easy To Find

I'm absolutely loving the songs released from this so far. I know they've done a bunch of shows basically playing the whole album and also showing the film that goes with it, but I've intentionally not watched any phone camera vids to try and keep the full album as more of an event.

I do like the National, but not really feeling these on first listen. Although quite a bit of other stuff by them that needed a good few listens before the penny dropped for me personally. Definitely interested to hear the album as a whole though.

High Violet blew me away. Everything since has felt softer somehow, more radio friendly. Still decent but not what I'm looking for.

The new album doesn’t do it for me with the exception of couple of nice tracks.

Yeah, to be fair I got a copy the day before a couple of 2 hour flights, so got a lot of listens in

I'm a big fan, but they are steadily becoming  very middle of the road and losing their quirky edge for me. I don't like the new one much at all. Doesn't have the darkness or melancholy of older stuff, and I did like they way they did that. High Violet seems to have been their nadir perhaps

I was right It is! 

@Snap give it a chance, there are definitely some dark moments there

For me its like anything: do it properly, do it once. Solicitor every time, particularly if you are bothered about who you leave behind when you slip your cable

I disagree. For me, the best three songs - Hairpin Turns, Rylan and Light Years - come at the end of the album.

The more I listen to it, the more I think it could well be their best yet.  Got my tickets for Manchester July 10th already, WooHoo!

Pretty amazing record IMHO. Looking forward to watching the film and hopefully catching them live soon!
