I really like them, I think that in the right guitar they would look pretty cool. I quite fancy buying some.

Humble pickups.

On a dark natural wood or chalk paint type finish these would look awesome for that faux vintage chic look. Noice!

Wonder if they are made with real tone wood?

I fully expect the relic versions to have woodworm hole weight relief.

    Hideous.

They make me think of American restaurants where they serve fried chicken with "biscuits" and that weird white gravy, followed by a big slice of apple pie.  They should be displayed on a red and white gingham tablecloth.

    Li'l Belle and Bo Twangles...?

I don't hate the look of them, but good ole boy chic is not for me.

Just goes to show, there is a market for everything. Even these.

I think if they didn't have the writing, used real wood veneer and the veneer could be swapped out, they'd have something interesting. Guitars with beautiful woods and cream plastic pickup covers can sometimes look a bit off.

Typical American good taste, restraint and unobtrusive charm.
Not at all vulgar and grotesque.
If anything they're too subtle for my taste.

I've been trying to think of that UK manufacturer who made pickups with wooden bobbins.  I was thinking something to do with pigs, warthogs...

    Swineshead.

I wonder if they're still around?
