Has anyone checked out the Titanium Tune o matic from Gotoh? Zinc is the standard material but i know a lot of pros swear by titanium saddles.

Here is the standard

Here is the titanium

whats the difference between the above and this one? https://g-gotoh.com/international/product/ti104b.html

Its for a gretsch 6228 jet style guitar.

The ones they put on as standard rattle a lot.

Thanks

Haven’t used titanium, but had a couple of Callaham Steel bridges on various guitars which were different but not always better.

I had one on an all maple Gretsch hollow body which was too toppy. I replaced it with a brass bridge from ABM Mueller and it was a huge improvement. Though I bought the ABM bridge off a guy who had originally bought it for a 335 and he found it too warm/muddy on that guitar.

I had a Callaham on a Tokai ES175 copy which worked great, and I had one on a Les Paul which was too toppy as well, a brass bridge worked great on that.

I guess the take away from all of this is that changing bridge material will make a difference, though depending on other factors it may it may not be an improvement.

Construction wise the ABM stuff is not completely authentic as a Tuneomatic copy, it looks similar to one but has been improved. Otherwise if you are after a brass Tuneomatic, I think B&G guitars make one, as do Halon Guitar Parts. I haven’t used any of Halon’s bridge but I have gotten other stuff from them and they are great to deal with.
