It's not the gap around the pickup, that's always been there there to some degree or other, it's the gap along the edge of the fingerboard binding, past the neck pickup.
Didn't notice that at first but it's wrong imo and looks cack, i think they're flat along the board inc a real 58 I've looked at

Does anyone actually play the guitar anymore?

Or do they look for gaps and worry about them far too much?

The top of the range custom shop Les Pauls are over £5K these days, I don't think expecting the pickguards to sit flush against the neck bindng without a gap is too much too expect is it? Epiphone can do it.

If the bumper on your new £100K BMW M5 didn't fit quite right then sure it will drive fine but it's not right is it?

does anyone actually just drive a car these days?

They are. Once you take the nasty little bit of cheap plastic off and chuck it in the bin.

Surely any sensible person is removing it as soon as they get home anyway.

It's shaped like a paper dart for a reason. All you need is a window.

You sound like my 13 y/o daughter and her inane friends, discussing thigh gaps.

Sorry if you’re paying that money for accurate historical re-enactment then the gap is a good thing as it add authenticity??

Also, are there actually people who care one way or another??!!
