    On:

    Aesthetics - SA2200
    Build Quality - SA2200
    Resale - SA2200
    Reputation - SA2200

    Against/Fence:

Unknown quotient - tone... The SA2200 is not a Gibbo 335 exact replica in tone, but they feature the same PUPs as in my '86 SG2000s and I can actually get a 335 tone from that!

    Not played an Eastman...

I've had two SA2200's over the years, lovely guitars but the pickups are very "HiFi" and a bit anaemic imho
I totally understand what you mean...but I really like them the way they are... although I shouldn't.
That's what it's all about in the end :) enjoy :)

I spent a good amount of time playing some Eastman guitars and was really impressed with the T59V.

I really liked the varnish finish though, which obviously isn’t for everyone. It was nice to play, nice fretwork, quality hardware, and the Seth Lovers sounded great.

I expect the Yamaha is great too though. Tough choice!

Having played neither guitar and going purely on my on basis - keep the Yamaha and sell the red looking fruit box thing with the ugly headstock ;)

    SA2200 on looks - it's why I've got one!

Yeah, shallow. Luckily it sounds great too.

I’ll be interested to read a proper playing report. Every Eastman I’ve laid my hands on has been superb and soulful, whereas every Yamaha has been superb and technically proficient.

Tell me how to structure such playing report and I will write it. I hope I will be able to finally connect my TCR10 with the iMac and record some stuff.

Tried a couple of Eastman’s at the weekend at the North West Guitar Show. Very nice, but wouldn’t swap them over my es335.
