AFAIK, he retired from the business in 1972.
Apparently he married Andy Parker’s sister and supposedly did a bit of guitar tech work on tour with UFO in the 80s.

Some of that early UFO stuff is fab, if a bit dated.

So he pretty much retired when Schenker stepped into his boots? IMO those were big boots to fill, especially by someone like Schenker, Mick may not have been as technical but he did make a good noise.

I listened to just a bit of this, about 30s, and he bent three notes out of tune in that little space of time. And that awful dry guitar upfront on the mix? Just sounds like an amateur band down the pub on saturday nigh. My apologies to any fans.

Just goes to show, different folks hear different things.

That album is some of my favourite psychedelic stoner blues jamming ever. Sounds like it's been done mostly live. And yes he does reach for stuff that doesn't always come off to perfection. But I'd rather hear that any day than some polished performance....

Anyways, not having a pop, honest, I guess it'd be boring if we all heard everything the same.

Those are the very reasons why I like it, its sounds real, unpolished, unrehersed , my first reaction was that it sounded crap but it fast grew on me.
