Because say something costs £100 normally, they change their price to £111, you still get it for £100 but they get an extra £11, and if you don't know your prices you'll think you've got a good deal

Weird. I’d rather hope that my sales volume goes up instead, which I suppose is the point... oh well.

Hmmm - ebay are doing £1 selling fees for some, so they'd be profiting from that too.
