Hi guys

I'm in Southgate N14 - Although I haven't needed a tech for a few years, I used to go to Malcolm Hine in Edmonton, but as there's no responses to e-mails and his website doesn't seem to be there anymore, I'm wondering (and hope he's still well) if he's no longer doing guitar work - does anyone know?

Assuming he might no longer be trading, and apart from LA guitars in Finchley (who are more acoustic oriented), can anyone recommend me a good guitar tech for electric guitars?  I need a full pro-set up that may need some fret levelling work, & changing a volume pot.

Thanks

I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

I think the guys at Mill Hill Studios do some repair work, but I wouldn't swear to it.

You could give The Sound Garden in Barnet a call. They're not too far away.

LA Guitars used to do all the work on my electrics when I lived in London. Very high quality work but they're not the cheapest.

I second what Drwiddly said, LA guitars did work on a few of my electrics, and they were perfect, proper craftsmen. David Lipkin unfortunately has developed a nerve disposition in his hand so intricate work is limited for him, but they're still active. they are now based in finchley

John Chapman at Bass Gallery in Camden. Good enough to refret my 66 Tele - did a perfect job.

Jon at JR Amps near Rickmansworth (he's actually right opposite a tube station) does guitar work. He wears a white coat when he works so you know he's good!

Not sure if Doug at Blackmachine is still doing that work in addition to making a few guitars
Might be worth giving him a shout by email .
If he hasn't moved he's in New Southgate/Bounds Green
