I've suddenly taken a shine to the Meteora. Hard tail, twin buckers, and toggle switch in the right place. Plus it's a neat shape and looks fab in LPB!

Anyone got one, had one, tried one?

Really wanted one earlier this year but £850 is not acceptable to me right now. I’ll be keeping an eye on the SH market but also considering a partscasteora with a diy body.

    Fender Meteora

Much sexier than the new HH versions, but each to their own!

That would be a cracking shape for a bass

Yeah why not. It looks like the Lace Cybercaster from a while back. Twin humbuckers is boring, but then no-one ever asked for a Tele neck pickup either. How about two single coils... or... @MattFGBI ... Fender should make a guitar with their version of a goldfoil pickup. People would literally explode.

It was a nay on reveal, but the release models did away with those ugly black block inlays, so now it's a definite yay. I think they look great.

A new modern ergonomic shape. (I.e not 'authentic'.) Hated by Mark Agnesi as only being fit for a hipster. The very antithesis of a 'looks like my grannie's sideboard' Gibson. I like it! (Especially now they have got rid of those block markers.)

It's a 'yes' from me. Hoping for a Squier one in the next few years

I prefer the one with humbuckers and no block inlays. I think it looks pretty cool and I'd like to try one. Have to say that the red one in the video reminds me of my Squier Jagmaster that I loved .

I like it, and I like that other new Fender with the P-Bass (I think) body, a bridge humbucker and a Tele neck pickup. Can't remember what it's called though...
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

  • Like it. Bit expensive for me at the moment.
But yes, i would be all over a Squier version.

If I had a spare £900 toy money I'd be all over a green 'un.

Only ever held the "Tele" version. Seemed slightly pointless. Worst of all, the control knobs are too far away for the Speedy West, Roy Buchanan and Greg Koch swell/wah stunts.

Why would anyone want a guitar named after an area of Greek orthodox monasteries?

Yep, like a lot. Not had a chance to pick one up yet but it's definitely on the list!

The humbucker version is *much* nicer than the jarring mash-up of modernistic body styling and vintage Tele hardware. I still dislike tune-o-matic bridges on Fenders, but you could probably replace it with a Mustang one if you wanted...

Years ago I would have hated it. Now I rather like it.

Despite the pickup selector being in the wrong place (Fight! Fight! Fight!), I really like it ...and if it had a Jazzmaster-style trem, I'd be sorely tempted.

EDIT: Just noticed that the neck p/up has a mounting ring, despite it being placed entirely on a scratchplate. That's guitar esthetics crime #1, as far as I'm concerned.  (insert vomiting emoji here)
Not much of the gear, even less idea.
