been after a gigging guitar for a while , someone I knew was selling an early 90’s les Paul studio so I went over to check it out. He’d bought it 20 years ago but he has loads of guitars and doesn’t really play this one.

It’s a 1991 model in wine red and has an ebony board . All original apart from some aftermarket Grover tuners and a non matching chrome / nickel selector switch .
I love 90’s Gibsons , this one sounded fantastic and I instantly felt at home . So I bought it !!
the colour has come up great after a good clean . Just needs a setup now and I’m thinking about getting a gold selector switch to match and putting Kluson style machine heads on , nowt wrong with the grovers, I just like things to be close to stock as possible.

why do you set the switch 90 degrees clockwise?

I had one very much like that, except with a rosewood board - although it was so dark it almost looked like ebony.  It was really good, but I went through an obsessive-selling phase and stupidly got rid of it.

    Nice catch.
