I just use a 330pf cap with a log pot - using a resistor messes up the pot taper too much for me. 

I'm running master volume and tone though. If you're running separate volumes it's fun to experiment with a 270pf on the bridge pickup to retain a lot of warmth, and a 470pf on the neck volume to give you a very bright, clean rhythm tone with the volume low, and full fat neck pickup when it's on 10. 

That makes for a very versatile guitar, without even touching your amp or pedals.
