RE: Lighting. It can make a huge difference. This is the two Yonguo light-wands, which are in shot because they look cool. Those are my key lights. Off to the right hand side there is an LED panel light with a blue gel across it, acting as a fill light. Behind the camera there is also an LED panel light with red gel across it, acting as an additional fill light. Behind the planet there is a lava lamp which is acting as a backlight, although more accurately I'm just using it to splash a bit of colour.

Quite a few different temperatures going on, so getting the white balance correct was very important.

Not much I could do about the fire alarm behind the plant - we did move the plant in some of the final shots to try and hide it, but people wont be looking at that anyway. Well... they might now!
