On fender guitars yes, but on this occasion I agree with simon. A black guard would give it a more traditional look. Not everyone likes the same stuff though.

With the pick ups being Black, I think it gives a nice contrast. I started getting a bit ostentatious and wondering how an Anodised Gold guard would look, that's if they are available in that shape.

I really like it, it looks like an obscure early 70s model rather than a budget new one.
