Picture Hosting Closure

Yet another service closing - Tinypic. I had moved nearly all my pics to here about 3 years ago in view of other main services closing or stopping access from public websites... annoying.

Wow. That is bad news. (But thanks for the heads up).

I have been telling everyone for years that the acid test (of an image hosting service) is this: Are the images that you uploaded 10 years ago still live?

TinyPic was good while it lasted.

Shite, that's all my stuff wiped out then.

What's the consensus on alternatives? Obviously not Photobucket, they wiped all my stuff years ago.

@p90fool I've been using postimage, although I haven't posted any serious amount of stuff to it.

I tried imgur, but couldn't get it to work nicely with my ISP (Vodafone).  I eventually found a fix for it involving a bodge to the DNS settings.

Cheers guys, I'll look into it. I'd hate to lose a dozen or so blurred pictures of broken guitars in my scruffy garden.

After cancelling my Flickr renewal (they doubled it from $25 to $50 this year!), I've now caved to using google photos.
I also have some photos on Dropbox, but it's a pain to share photos with.

Don't Google.ohoto direct links die after a set time.to prevent them being used as this sort of linking?

I don't know the detail, but half the time someone replies "can't see photos" it's because they're posted from google via android. 

I also don't like it when people use Facebook as that's blocked for most of us reading from offices...

I had some issues with permissions to upload files and suchlike with tinypic and shifted to imgur a while back.

I had been meaning to check what I'd got on tinypic, but I'd forgotten its name, so thanks for this thread! :-)

Tinypic was horrible, gave me loads of problems! I started using Imgur a couple of months ago and all good so far.

I was using Facebook to host guitar build images that I posted here, but it's a crock o sh*te for that as it keeps losing the links for some reason and you have to manually put them back again.
