I have a Soundgarden Superunknown Singles box set signed by Chris Cornell and Kim Thayil.  I thought it would be worth something but i got a valuation off £18 of a collector - pre Chris Cornell's death mind.

I have a 12" of Therapy?'s Screamager EP on ltd edition green vinyl which has the A-side duplicated by accident on the B-Side.  I took it back to the shop where i got it and the store owner said keep that it'll be worth something and gave me a new one free.

I have some signed and rare original pressings of Tindersticks albums and promo's on vinyl which i bought off ebay.  Some with cover designs that never got approved.  Little did i know that the seller was one of the band having a clearout and advertised in a way that they went to genuine fans.

Also got Coldplays Safety and Blue Room EP's on CD which are potentially worth something.

Sadly, i don't think any of worthy of buying a retirement yacht.

Not big money. But I have an Iron Maiden 1995 CD box set that turns out to be pretty rare. Two boxes, five albums in each. All come with second CDs of bonus material and b-sides. Apparently these boxsets are now worth a few hundred.

    Edit:

Crikey, just done a quick Google. These "The Story so Far" boxsets were limited to just 1000 in the UK and have sold for over $1000 on ebay.

They are "just" my Maiden CDs I bought in the 90s in HMV when I wanted to replace my tapes with CDs.

It is supposed to be worth about $600 US.

I've got a couple of early picture discs. Metallica / Satriani.

Apparently worth a couple of hundred or so. That's about it.

Just had a look on ebay - the Metallica one appears to be worth about £50

The Satch one doesn't show any completed sales but there is 1 on sale at £55.

Not as much as I thought - but not an issue either, I've not had a record player for decades!

Sold my owned-from-new Iron Maiden Soundhouse Tapes EP about 15 years ago for £400-odd. Now I see them going for £900!

    (asset bubble much?)

I had the Let it Be book that came with the original vinyl. Sold it in a record shop for £30 years ago. The guy in the shop asked if I’d got the cardboard wrapper that went with the book and album but I’d chucked it away. “Yeah everyone did, that’s why they’re rare. If you’d kept it together with the book and album, it’d be worth 5 times as much”. Doh.

The only really valuable album I’ve got is John Surman’s “How Many Clouds Can You See?”

  • Original versions of So Young/Tell Me and Sally Cinnamon on 12" (Stone Roses) along with most of their original singles in various formats.
It used to be worth something, no idea what it's worth now.

I’ve got a couple of albums on vinyl from the early to mid 90s that seem to be worth a fair bit as hardly anyone bought things on vinyl then but they now want them. I sold a couple of OCS LPs earlier this year for almost £200

  • Flip. Did some searching regarding the Iron Maiden boxset I mentioned above. Found a listing where one set went for US$2000.

I’ve got a lot of rare vinyl. I’d never sell it, so not worth anything.

Ive got a lot of old thrash/death metal and punk/hardcore on vinyl, some of which seems to go for prices way above what its popularity (at  least at the time of release) would lead you to expect, and some of which is from bands which went on to much bigger things
