I do love a bit of grain, but I need to work out what I am going to do with the Thinline (poly stripped off) and the HH ...

    Not being a fender guy this is obviously gonna be a stupid question, but what is the metal disk in the neck pocket of the one in the middle and the outline of the same on the one on the right?

    It's for the micro tilt mechanism so you can adjust the neck once it has been bolted on

    An adjustable shim, if you will.

  • Nice grain on the thinline. If that's a genuine Fender one, some of the grain on those is awful. Whenever I found one for a decent price the grain was kind of faded... Blurry... The sharp ones like that seem quite few and far between.

    Anyway, I'm going on. It looks great!

    Blonde wudtone on the Humbucker one. They all look great.
    Don't touch that dial.

    You could do worse than send it to @GoldenEraGuitars ;

    Here's the Strat body he's just done for me. The pictures really don't do it justice.

    Going to have to find a new way to describe a deep, liquid finish. Lovely.

    Thank you @normula1 and everyone for your kind words.

    Jeff was a joy to work with and I had a lot of fun on this one. I love these two tone bursts and the grain on the @GSPBASSES body worked beautifully for this.

  • For the HH I'd definitely go for a purple, blue or green dye. Non traditional, but would look great with that grain. You could even burst from a darker shade.

    I love ash.  To me it looks better than any maple top.

    I have just varnished a strat body cut 50/50 with white spirit, using satin varnish - 7 coats. It really brings out the colour and grain, without affecting the feel - It still feels like wood.
