NAD - Origin 20H

Morning

It's on it's way this afternoon - picked up one of the bargains on GuitarGuitar.

Initially I'll be trying it through my Orange 4x12 cab but I do want another cab for the Marshall to save unplugging amps/speakers and probably blowing something up in the process.

The Origin 2x12 is the obvious choice, but I was wondering if any of the older 2x12 Marshall cabs I see on Ebay for around £150 would be a decent option - or something else?

Does anybody have any opinions/thoughts/recommendations?

There's someone on Facebook marketplace selling 4x12s for £100, fyi...

Not sure which ones you have in mind, Simon, but I would stay away from the lower end Marshall MG/MX cabs. Cheap quality and subpar speakers. The 2061cx would be a cool choice I guess, but pricey. 1936 is ok if you either get an old one (JCM800) or a recent model. JCM900 and up until recently (iirc) they also used cheaper wood (not plywood) for the cab body. Or get an Orange 2x12. Huge fan of Orange cabs here

hmmmm, an Orange 2x12 would certainly look the part on top of the Orange 4x12 ...

I've used the 20H with a 1936 a couple of times but I think it sounds way better with my 1 x 12" Mesa EV cab,the 1936 sounds hard & edgy,of course this is only my opinion & i'm old & a bit deaf.

A bit old and a bit deaf here too - I've ended up going for a an Orange 2x12 - it will at least match the 4x12 I already have and if I choose to move the Marshall on - I've got a nice pair for the Thunderverb!

I use my Orign 50 head with a pair of 1x12s - very Bluesbreaker....
