Interesting, but...

...if this is *still* an outlet for who I think it is, the innards have probably been replaced by a couple of Harley Benton pedals... :open_mouth:

IIRC, Quark were UK-based purveyors of various MIDI interfaces/switching gear in the mid-‘80’s (I vaguely recall a 1U device called Midilink), so I suppose this is an alternative to the usual Pete Cornish leviathans which were around back then...any Yes aficionados know more about this?

If the Quark is that good, why would Howe sell it?

My favourite "ex-Howe" gear story appears in one of Julian Colbeck's Keyfax books. It concerns the Roland MKS-80/MPG-80 in Howe's guitar synthesis rack. Colbeck casually enquired whether the pair might be for sale. Howe's only reply was to give Colbeck the Stare Of Death.

Why did he offload it? (Probably) Because his Line6 gear gives him access to the same sounds reliably without the aggro, stage real estate or complexity.

I used to work with Steve (I rebuilt a couple of his guitars and have worked on his stage rig) and aside from a few very special instruments, the rest are tools. And he’s a lot easier to work with than some would have you believe - he just expects high standards.

My friend programs the sounds for Steve Howe when he tours. He said that there was a shedload of this old gear stacked up in his 'garage' gathering dust and not used.
