What to do with a guitar that has no truss rod margin any longer?

is it possible to instal a new one and start from scratch?
is it a sign that the woods have moved way too much?
not that I have a guitar with that issue but considering to buy one as far as it is fixable..

It always helps to mention the make and model of guitar in question

I've seen truss rods where the nut is removed and washers inserted to give more adjustment

I have a Squier Joe Trohman  tele neck on my Strat parts caster as its a 12 inch radius ,medium jumbo 22 frets  large strat headstock  etc . I failed to check the truss rod before I bought the Trohmann  used and the truss rod nut is damaged beyond help . Nothing will remove it so I have just left it . So far in two years its hasnt shifted so it still plays  perfectly with a nice low action but its in a  bedroom and although we dont have central heating it seems stable. Have'nt risked gigging it in hot bars though .It hasnt cost me anything as I sold the body for what I paid for the whole guitar so no loss .

That's a new one on me. Do you perhaps have a picture of the truss rod adjuster you could post?

With this in mind but in the opposite direction, what's the best option if you want less relief and the truss is already fully slack?

Just really heavy strings for a bit?

I'm fairly sure the correct answer is to buy another guitar.*

This doesn't mean you don't get it fixed, it's all about buying more guitars.

I'm not saying it's appropriate with this guitar, but I have removed fretboards and replaced truss rods 3 times now. A right faff of a job but doable.

It’s very rare to not be able to get a truss rod nut out, even if it means ruining it in the process - the usual method I’ve used is to hammer a cheap tapering screwdriver into the recess, and turn it with mole grips if necessary. Bending the neck backwards to take the tension off the nut can help.

If you can get it out by any means, then just replace it.

    I am afraid not,
the guitar is in a shop in Japan and they have no pics of the truss rod area showing..
