Battery drain

Hi I have a Kala Thinline Nylon strung with a Shadow Performance Preamp. Fine for two years, now suddenly the 2032 batteries barely last a day, even when switched off.

Have used Servisol Super 10 to clean and lubricate electronics but still draining. Too expensive to replace (£100) without trying to repair. As my electronics knowledge just about matches my guitar talent, please help if you have any ideas.

    Sounds like one of the ICs or possibly electrolytic caps has developed a short. Depending on the type of components it may be fairly straightforward to replace or very hard.
