NGD: Fiesta Red Madness!

New strat day! Me and @tomajoha had a shot of the custom shop strats we were selling and both came to the conclusion that we preffered the others! 

He ended up with my 55 (and some dosh) and I got this absolute monster...

2019 Fender '60 Custom Shop Relic Stratocaster in Fiesta Red.

The spec is absolutely amazing and the strat is loud, deep and resonant. Couldn't be happier!

Big 65C neck, 6100 Frets, super dark board, Cruz wound fat 60s... what a beast.

That is really nice. For some reason I love an aged Fiesta red strat with a RW board, but hate them on a maple neck. I think I get flashbacks to my Marlin strat copy in that colour

@Branshen Part exchanged with The Custom Shop 55 I had up for 175k. He liked the neck on mine more and I preferred the neck on this! It's a monster guitar. Will be looking at different pickup options in the future, fat 50s and a slab rosewood board is lacking a little of the sparkle I like in strats

Forgive my Fender ignorance, what makes this (beautiful) CS Strat more valuable than the 55 CS Strat so the trade involved dosh? One reliced the other not?

They're both similar level guitars but the 55 was NOS which are often cheaper than relics, three years old and had a fair bit of light use. I paid and wanted 1700 for it, which is very cheap.

The '60 is only 3 months old, hardly played and costs 3600 new. It was up at a fair price of 2600.

@clarkefan That's one of the reasons I caved in. Gary's version of Red House at the Fender frontline gig is one of the reasons I started playing play guitar! An absolute hero and sadly missed

That's one of the first relic Strats which actually looks like an old one that I've seen for ages. 
Great looking guitar.
