Increasing spring tension simply pulls the floating vibrato sharp of the neutral point.
Almost seems like a waste of the Wudtone vibrato bridge to block it. Might as well reinstate the stock item.

It's a self-build so it is stock
Seems a waste, but it's cheaper than buying another humbuggy metal guitar! Of course, maybe I'll leave it to float, but it needs to chug.
I just used some 3mm thick lengths of pine I had laying around to block the trem on my Strat. Three pieces, two behind the block and one in front fitted perfectly.
Did the same with the Floyd on my Charvel.
