I am considering buying a 000 that my luthier has just finished and in order to afford it I'll have to sell my PJE.  I have had 12-frets for 25+ years including  Collings and Santa Cruz and this one beats them all hands down.

This is a 2003 PJE 12-fret Kanuga with slotted headstock and is really well played in.  Comes with the original PJE Hiscox Lifelite Pro 2 case.  This was the top of the range Kanuga and PJE confirmed that very few were ever made.  I've never seen another one.

Real top quality woods used.....spruce top and rosewood back and sides in high gloss nitro.

The guitar is in really excellent condition all round with only one small mark on the top below the bridge and a tiny bubble under the lacquer on the back which is completely smooth to touch.  Couple of other really small marks but its 16 years old.

MOP rosette and inlays throughout.  Ebony pyramid bridge, headstock face and heel cap.  Koa binding.  Waverly tuners.

The width at the nut is 46mm which is identical to my old Collins 12-fret.  The Collings was based on the old pre-war Martin spec.

I have been using a LR Baggs M1A but will remove this and re-install the factory strap button/jack socket.

I am using 12-54 strings on the guitar as recommended by PJE and they work perfectly.  The guitar is effortless to play.

I have spent ages trying to get some decent photos and none really show the colour of the top as it is.  Most photos seem to lighten it up too much.  The first photo below captures the colour fairly well but not perfectly.

I'm asking £1700 and would much prefer someone to come and try it (I'm in Cambridgeshire) but I appreciate that this isn't an option for some people so am happy to ship at cost.

I may be prepared to take an electric in part ex or as a trade.  Something like a custom shop tele or a light 52 reissue tele or..........?

That is a beautiful guitar, surely won't be around long at that price.

It really is a lovely guitar and one that will be difficult to part with but I really fancy a change after so many years of playing 12-frets.  Hopefully the low asking price may encourage someone to buy it.....that was the idea anyway!  :)

  • Just updated the listing for the PJE with trade options.  Money seems to be an issue for everyone at the moment so may consider a straight trade or a p/ex for a solid body

  • Would you be interested in a PJEggle electric. HSS Anderson pick-ups. Falling leaves inlaid neck.  It has a Redwing plate and case but is very different from most Redwings. Probably a custom job. Would be looking for £1300 trade value.
