SOLD 1996 Takamine MIJ EF440C

Takamine's snappily named EF440C for sale. Made in Japan in 1996 according to the serial number.

It's the NEX shape that Takamine suggest they ivented and has the pretty "jigsaw" inlays around the sound hole.

Sound is rich and balanced with excellent projection even when picking. Perhaps surprisingly so from a smaller bodied guitar. Plugs in using Takamine's preamp of the time and their proprietary pickup system. Sounds good through PA etc.

It's seen some gigging over the years and shows evidence of this. The largest ding above the soundhole and is shown in the pics. There is also wear to the edge of the soundhole from strumming and some strumming marks on the top both on the down and up stroke areas! The neck, however, is more or less unscathed and feels good.

Had a pro setup about a year ago and still feels the same now as it did then. Very, very solid and reliable guitar.

From what I can find online, these originally retailed at around a grand in the 90s/early 00s but I'm thinking around £375 including the hard case is a reasonable price all things considered.
