Now for sale... I have too many amps again!

Your chance to own a unique build.

It's a vibro-champ type build. EL34 output stage for more volume - coupled with the 10" speaker it's excellent. Single ended EL34 amps work really well to my ears, surprised there aren't more out there.

Useful tonestack lift to go from refined blackface to raw tweed at the flick of a switch.

Cabinet is pine with a thin ply baffle so the amp sounds really lively.

Speaker is a eminence legend 1028 10"

Fabric Paisley covering makes it stand out.

Footswitch socket and panel toggle for the vibrato circuit makes it even more versatile.

Offers around £550? Or trades of course.

I think that was made from a shirt I had in 1989.  Lovely looking thing (the amp not the shirt)

I rarely calculate output wattage as I don't always find it a useful way of measuring output volume.  Having said that, the way it's set up and biased you'll be looking at 7-8 watts, so not really pushing the el34 too much.

A larger OT can be put in though to raise the output if required.

Yep, all built from scratch, by hand. Cab, chassis, circuit, covering.

I think the sub text to @poopot’s question is “Are you a trader, and consequently shouldn’t be advertising as a private seller?”.

The moderators’ understanding is that you make and sell pedals but, as you said at the start of your build thread, this amp was built for personal use.

That's a very good question. I do have an effects pedal company, so I guess technically I could be a trader. I never class myself as a commercial builder of amps though, it's more something I do for fun and then sell the odd one on if I don't have a need for it. (Probably sold about ten at most in all the time I've been on this forum).

Very happy to take down the post if it's breaking any forum rules though, done want to ruffle any feathers.

    That’s fabulous!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Would that impact the tone at all, or just make it physically louder?

Bound to impact tone slightly, but I'd bet it would sound just as good :-)

Sorry if these seem stupid questions, I’m just a total layman when it comes to this stuff.
Would a larger OT be of any value in terms of volume increase, I mean would it be a significant or more one of those ‘goes to 11’ moments? And could that tonal difference (I’m presuming higher OT means working the valve harder) be detrimental and lead the tone into muddy drive territory?
Again, sorry if these seem ridiculous questions, I’m just intrigued.

Not a problem at all. Larger OT should provide a bit more bass and some more volume/headroom yes. Perhaps not significant, but definitely noticeable. It won't make it any more muddy or affect the tone providing the primary impedance is kept the same on the new transformer.

Any more questions PM me :-)
